I replaced my timing belt tensioner with the belt as maintenance before it was a "broken" problem, the bearing was loud. I did not go the Bobcat route for the new one and recall getting the automotive one only to find the bracket was a bit different.
Then you just put the belt on, spin it around once, and push the tensioner over so there's X amount (look at the manual) of play in the belt and lock the tensioner. Not hard, but the pictures in the book aren't great and when you Google this you might get some haywire answers.

Either need to check and adjust the belt tension, tensioner spring could be broken, tensioner could be seized up, or the belt needs replaced.Find the drive belt tensioner pulley assembly for Bobcat® skid steer small frame machines. The only good parts are the idler wheel, tensioner spring, a few washers and the dust cap. With 2000 hours on this machine, sevice is way past due.
