Clawdaddy skid - steer tire alternative You may want to try a tire called a Nextire Clawdaddy. It has 3 1/2 inch tread depth and my experience and the experience of many people I have spoken with was very positive. Where it goes seems to be the biggest dictator of wear. Smooth concrete hours of 4000 are more common than not. A user asks for advice on how to pull out a skid steer that got stuck in a ditch while using a bucket. Other users suggest using chains, a forklift, a snow bucket, or a plow to dig out the machine. The skid steer tires work great on the front of a backhoe, however I wouldn't put a 10 ply in place of a 12 ply. The front of your backhoe carries a lot of weight on the front when your bucket is full. They make a good skid steer heavy duty 12 ply with a bead saver and that is what I use on my backhoe. I wouldn't worry too much about the speed .

My 3/8" dewalt impact makes splitting the track a 3 minute task, and then its just R&R of the tire. I didnt have a spare handy so I had to shut down, go to town, get my tire fixed, etc. Spent half my day finding a tire shop that had a correct tube as nobody stocks them anymore. No experience of filling skid steer tyres so I can't help there, but it's worth noting that in my experience filling tyres is usually done for stability/balance more than in the hope of gaining traction. Rear tyres on tractors with a front loader, front tyres on a tractor with a heavy implement on the back. The OEM tires that came on my skid steer are worn out with less than 200 hours on them. I am operating the machine in tough rocky Texas Hill Country, but I think there must be a tougher tire out there better suited for the application I need. I have checked prices and see that they vary widely.
1) Try a small ratchet strap over the center of the tire and crank it down tight. Some times that will force the bead out and it will take air. 2) If you can get your hands on some super stiff pipe soap and place it around the bead this may work. You might have to remove the tire and place on a 5 gallon bucket to ensure one side of the bead is set.
