mustang 1700 skid steer right side not steering properly i have a nice 1700 with heated cab,bucket,snow plow and forks. only problem is my gear box for the variable drive is bad and the hyd drive pulley has ran loose,worn so it wobble and vibrates. have tried all summer to find parts no luck. hoping someone somewhere has a doner machine and is willing to sell me what i need. i also have a spare . Your control levers are adjusted properly when they will sit in the neutral position without the machine rolling or any functions trying to activate.

A brother-in-law is looking at a 1700 Mustang skid loader. This one has a V-4 Ford gas engine and has a torque converter. I believe the torque converter is used for the variable speed. The person trying to sell it said, "The throttle on the right hand grip doesn't work right." Does anyone have any experience with this type of loader? I have a 2076 mustang and we were pushing some dirt with it this spring. I am sure it was a load for the machine. I was not running it. Since this job the right side always creeps ahead when the hand controls are in let go. If you shake the controls it .
I have an old Mustang 1700 skidsteer with the v-4 Ford liquid cooled engine and variable speed drive. I had an issue where something is wrong with the output shaft that couples to the gearbox coupling. #1. I think if you ever had problems with the drive system, you'd have a hard time getting parts and/or service for it. You might want to check with a current Mustang dealer to see if parts are available for the old OMC (Mustang)machines. Not sure what your budget is but I'd look for something like a Bobcat 742/743 or maybe a bigger 843.
