Later, Terex took full ownership of ASV. ASV was then sold off, and became an independent company , again. In 2019, Yanmar bought the company. So, ASV has seen quite a few owners in its relatively short history. Dealer support has long been a problem. Welcome to forum. I sold the "white" machines for 8 years, and now work in the landscaping side of things. I still own a skid, but I bought an RC50 from my ASV dealer and have been very happy with it. IMHO i think that ASV makes a great product due to their focus on rubber tracked machines. They don't make anything else to draw their attention .
The Cat does have a different Squirel cage. Its open instead of closed like the ASV. I like how the cat is. The ASV boggies float, the Cat doesn't. Both the M-610 and Mustang 1700 have a Wisconsin engine and lever type throttle, which I often move up or down as necessary. A foot pedal seems like a bad idea, with the bouncing a skid loader can get. I am a farm owner-- hobby farm. I own an 80 HP ASV track loader. Track loader is better than a typical skid steer for many reasons but most obvious is ability to go where nothing else will. This is built and designed in AMERICA-- like Cat, JD, and Bobcat. For a 10hr work day this would give you a total cost of 0.00 (which would work out to /hr). Where this is more advantageous for us is for smaller jobs. A 4hr project would run 0 (which is about 5/hr). Just went through the paces buying a skid loader this past summer, I bought a ASV RC-85. Best thing I could have done. I have ran it for 4 months and would have been stuck at least 10 times in a tired machine. Tested a RC50, tested a RC60 and wound up at a 85, VERY happy with my choice. And yes, the hand controls are superior in every way.
