I filled it tonight and started it to see if a hose was leaking or a fitting nothing .
Welcome to the world of John Deere junk. If your solenoid problem ends up like mine did, which the machine locked up, wiped out the entire wiring harness along with the instrument panel, and 00 and a month later was fixed, you'll probably need to start looking for a new machine now.

I have a 01 John deer skid steer 240 leaking hydraulic fluid. Tags john deer. Jump to Latest 2K . I was operating my 240 in a field when the hydraulics went dead. I filled the tank until it showed full, started it back up but still no hydraulic power. Then I saw all the hydraulic fluid there in the grass. I opened the cab but no fresh oil was showing under that area. The JD 240 is a vertical lift machine with a long wheel base. The vertical lift is a great advantage for reach, visability, loading trucks and you are less likely to dump your load on yourself. The long wheel base is very advantageous for sloped terrain operating, level driving at speed without the skid steer rocking motion.
